We offer highly competitive salaries, annual incentive plans, and generous benefits.  Carrizo seeks an experienced and motivated individual with a strong background in safety management for Oil & Gas operations to fill the position of EH&S Technical Specialist based in the Dilley, Texas area.  Duties include but not limited to the following:

Inspect all locations - Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements as pertains to RRC rule 3.36.  Pro-actively evaluate risk potential, mitigation and corrective action. This will apply to drilling, completion (fracture stimulations), and production operations.  Prepare action item lists and establish feedback to ensure action.

  • Facility Inspections
    • Identify potential safety and OSHA compliance issues
    • Housekeeping status
    • Leaks and potential spills
    • Contingency Planning
  • ESD inspections - Oversee routinely
    • Monthly / Quarterly reports to Corporate
    • Ensure contractors are on target with equipment
    • Troubleshoot and test as needed or scheduled
  • H2S inspections - Overseeing monthly
    • Monthly inspections and reports to Corporate
    • Repair and rebuild, as needed, all models of portable and fixed H2S monitors
    • Ensure fixed H2S monitors are installed where required (e.g. >100 ppm)
    • Review third party inspections and work tickets for accuracy and advise Super
    • Review status of Emergency response programs as required by Rule 36
    • Maintain all H2S emergency equipment for all operations
      • Cascade systems
      • Warning signs
      • Personal monitor and detectors
    • Fire Extinguisher Inspections
      • Monthly inspections at sites
      • Overseeing annual inspections

Successful candidate must have minimum of 5 years of experience managing EH&S H2S activities in upstream O&G operations and current knowledge of state and federal regulations.  Candidate must have valid state issued driver’s license and to be able to travel, including overnight travel, work evening and weekends as needed.
